The Loyalty factor of the mastiff is regal,  you feel every ounce of it pour out through those eyes that gaze with gleam and love and bring  you into a world that there is no fear.

I Never realized there was such a "human" breed of Dog.  What I mean by that is. I have become Mastifficated !  An addiction that only known to us mastiff owners that have been Bitten by the Mastiff "Love Bug".

I began in this breed in 1995. Long hours of research and in 1996 began rescuing it, to learn about it and to see if the mastiff was really for me. I have never been the same.

I think of the first thing can be said of the mastiff is Breath Taking ! Such a Majestic animal with such power, strength and substance. And every ounce of its weight and size is all heart love and loyalty. The Loyalty factor of the mastiff is regal,  you feel every ounce of it pour out through those eyes that gaze with gleam and love and bring  you into a world that there is no fear. But of comfort and protection bringing about a feeling of peace in your soul that words can not describe.

Mastiffs can and will absorb you and you them. A common bond between owner and mastiff never seen to me in all the year of dealing with various breeds. While my experience started young, via my father who was a dog warden part time after his other job. He never could put any dog down. So off home he came with it and thus started my rescue adventure. BUT ! there is ONE that stands out in my mind !!!!!!!!. One so large I thought I had finally gotten my pony. Nope ! But close it was the powerful large moving thumping dog wanting to play. But with the true Gentleness Claiming every stake to the title of Gentle Giant !   I had no idea what it was back then but BIG ! I was around 5 yrs of age and thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. But through the years I have come to know it was indeed a mastiff.  I am not sure but I think I was bitten by the "love bug "  then.

It is not a wonder why,  this breed was next to the throne of royalty. A Place they are truly deserving to be.  I have encountered so many different aspects of the Mastiff . I never knew there were so many varieties to the same breed. I have met short ones, fat ones, tall ones, skinny ones, The best bred , ok bred ,  the poorly bred, and ill bred. The I have no clue , What  that one is, and the mixes of mastiffs.  However each carried one special thing, as all mastiffs do. That "Mastiff Spirit" you can not deny.! The True " Mastiff Spirit is and experience not quickly forgotten, I t can be the Mastiff spirit of Gentleness or the true Mastiff Spirit of Protection !

Each have left an imprint on my heart that drives me to educate people on the breed. To go beyond my call of duty as just a breeder or rescue person. It does not matter that I have suffered many persecutions. People who have lied against me and torn me apart out of jealousy or greed, what ever they felt their cause was. As well there are  those who would love to see me quit. For the love and To the heart of the breed, To the families who loves it and those who are seeking it. I will press on through my trials and overcome. For when I feel the world against me and seeks to destroy my soul. I look into my mastiffs trusting, loving eyes and it reaffirms my passion for the breed and the strength in my soul that , I can handle anything and each day become a  better person because of it. This is my God given life goal.

For each of those who were placed into a home who did not deserve such a Majestic animal, Who did not understand your breed and way of the breed the mastiff spirit inside of you, who suffered because of non educated owners, For the Breeder who did not care where their  baby went, or how it was treated or to educate your owners. For those who were breed and came into the world ill and fighting all odds. For those whom do not have a voice. For you my Love I speak.

I hope you find my pages informative as I share my experience about owning and living with the breed. I hope and Pray you find the love a mastiff in your home some day and experience this life time of experiences I have.

 While The mastiff is not for every person or every home, Though in My opinion I believe everyone should own one or is that Be Owned By One !   :-) And at least once in your life, Be slobbered with Mastiff Kisses !       Blessings ! Danielle

I dedicate these pages to every one of those mastiffs who have walked through my door or my life, who left foot prints etched on my heart forever. If I had a penny for each thing  you taught me and for each ounce of love you gave. I could save all the mastiffs in the world that are hurting.
