BREEDERS CONTRACT

Your most valuable tool! NEVER leave with out it and a copy of it.

Read it till you understand every word.

Ask questions if you do not understand.

A good breeder will give you as much time as you need and answer every question no matter how long it takes.  Even if you would like to take it home and review and return another time. A breeder should not object to this.

If the breeder seems frustrated with your questions or can not answer them LEAVE.

If a breeder does not have a contract LEAVE.

This is the only recourse you have is a signed contract by all parties if something goes wrong. If there is not a detailed health guarantee please walk out the door.

Remember to check what the paper work restrictions are. Understand them. it is not uncommon for Breeders to with hold paper work on spay neuter contracts. Nor on payment options or co -ownerships

AKC will not get involved in contract issues or issues concerning promise of paperwork.

The only recourse you will have is the legal system !
